The Old Dalton trail was first pioneered by Jack Dalton. He made this trail to take cattle to Dawson City during the Gold Rush in the Yukon. This trail still has historic sites along the way, such as cabins and corrals from the Gold Rush days. The portion of the trail we are taking, travels along lakes and plateaus and through wide valleys. There is possibility to view wildlife such as Bison, moose and bear.
This trip is a 7 day trip from the departure point near Champagne, Yukon to the trip completion at Braeburn, Yukon. You will be fully guided and outfitted travelling along the old Dalton trail by horseback. This is the true old cowboy trail of the gold rush days. This trip is an exclusive trip offered only by Yukon Horsepacking Adventures. Limited seating for this exclusive trip. Maximum number of guests 8, minimum number of guests is 3. All transportation to and from Whitehorse is included in this trip. No prior riding experience is necessary.
